[MP3: We Hung the Wrong Guy!]

by Edgar J. Steele

“People that are really very weird can get into sensitive positions and have a tremendous impact on history.”
— George W. Bush, Governor of Texas

My name is Edgar J. Steele. This is a Nickel Rant.

“Jesus is coming,” goes the old joke, “and, boy, is he pissed!” I’ve no doubt. If Jesus really is coming, I can’t imagine His being anything but truly and righteously angry about what has been going on lately.

Apocalypto Now: Abortion and Human Sacrifice in the Americas

by E. Michael Jones

Apocalypto is some indication of how far we have come in a very short time. The base line for Mel Gibson could be The Patriot, produced in 2000, which portrays America from the point of view of its beginnings in the Enlightenment, as a nation of independent yeoman farmers, who, like the character Gibson portrays, only go to war reluctantly, in defense of their freedom, which is under attack by the brutal English. No one in his right mind felt that America was a republic in any meaningful sense of the word in the year 2000, but someone felt that the exercise in nostalgia that The Patriot bespoke had some hortatory or moral value. Smithsonian did a cover story on it historic factuality. It was a bit like conservatives claiming that they read Burke and found him a relevant guide for our age. It was implausible but possible, I suppose.

“The Dark”

2004(debut), 2006/starring Maria Bello and Sean Bean/directed by John Fawcett/screenplay by Stephen Massicotte/on DVD

Reviewed by VNN Staff

We bet that most Jews and liberals won’t enjoy “The Dark” much – after all, there isn’t a negro, a Mexican, a homosexual or an AIDS patient in sight. Worse, the movie takes place not in some big, cosmopolitan city full of brown immigrants and sleazy women, but instead on a barren, rocky coastline in Wales. (Don’t Jews and liberals avoid barren, rocky coastlines unless someone is being “oppressed” on one?)

SA NIGS WANT TO STARVE TOO

Black SA Government Plans to Soon Take White Farmers’ Land

White farmers upset over holiday message

In a recent article reported by the website iol.co.za, it describes how the black South African Land Affairs Minister Lulu Xingwana [right] has recently angered white farmers. These farmers have called Xingwana’s most recent comments “racist,” and it appears that such accusations are done for good reason and might even have some merit.

By Kevin Patton

The events of 2006 didn’t give much hope for those of us referred to as the lunatic fringe or, as one of our next Presidential candidates calls us, “the vast right-wing conspiracy.”

It is too early to know our choices, but the thought of choosing between Barack Obama, Hilliary Clinton, John McCain, Condoleezza Rice, Rudy Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, or Al Gore for President should frighten and amaze you. If it doesn’t, then you have officially become like those Americans who spend their nights camped out on concrete awaiting the arrival of the latest Playstation or the opening of the newest Krispy Kreme donut shop.

FRIGHTFUL FACTS

Recognizing that the United States has little capacity to rein in its profligate spending and has neither the intent nor the ability to actually pay off its $60 trillion debt in money worth anywhere near what it’s worth today, foreigners are increasingly leery about accumulating more greenbacks.

Alex — just finished getting ALL of Ed Steele’s stuff in my audio archive (never too early to beat the Net-killers to the punch, eh?) and had a few thoughts.

In a former life-time I was a Zen buddhist monk. Yep, big burly round-eye with shaved head and black robes. One of the ko-an we studied was “What was your original face before you were born?”. Now YOU probably know what a ko-an is, but if not, it’s a mind-twist question that you can’t answer without WAKING UP to something. That “something” is what’s REALLY going on here … in this “life thing”.
