(Trivia: back in the 1960s, most people only used credit cards to buy gasoline. If they needed to buy something more expensive, they saved their pennies and bought it later. But today, everything is bought on credit – even little things like candy bars. It was Jews, largely via TV and magazine advertisements, who created our current “I want it now!” society of greed and immediacy).

I have a friend who has rented out houses for about 30 yrs.
When he is working on a house, he gets bored, so he reads the mail of the previous occupant.
His story: If a person runs up a $20,000 credit card bill, and doesn’t pay it, he will get a letter that proposes a great deal—-Just pay us 1/3 of what you owe, and you will be good!
So it’s worse than you think.
