Directed at the gut. It took me a while to figure this out. I had to look up the lyrics on the Web, where I found the others also. Kind of primal. The music reminds me of the very early music used in the Catholic church, which, of course, had its origins largely among Europeans, but also Romans, many of whom were not only white especially, but mixed to some degree. (I’m not sure about this, but my impression is that Nordics routinely came down from the north and mixed with the indegenous peoples in what is today Italy, and that African blacks, and others, came also into this same area and also mixed.) This was before polyphony and before Gregorian chant, where the notes were rudimentary and -in the church music- the rhythms subtle and varied. I wouldn’t call Death in June a Rock ‘n’ Roll group. They don’t get their musical ideas from blacks. Of course the melodic element is extremely subservient to the words, as in chant, though there are some interesting drumming patterns. The chords aren’t especially imaginative or well-informed but are elemental and suitable to the ideas of grimness and mourning, which is what a dirge is, and this piece is definitely in that mood. What he’s saying can be taken several ways, like it’s the destruction of all this hopeful delusion stuff -the extraneous lives and excessively civilized living- that will lead to a better life; although it could also be interpreted as revealing that rifle butts, suppression, and death of large numbers of people is what Heaven really consists of. This last is perhaps loopy, I grant you, but if you recall the evisceral nature of Christian belief, and the character of the so-called god of the Christian believers (as described in the Bible), it fits.

MAHLER JAILED FOR JEW-CRIT

Germany’s Horst Mahler Sent to Prison

German patriot and lawyer Horst Mahler has been sentenced to nine months prison for allegedly handing out “anti-Semitic propaganda” in the democratic regime of Germany. Mahler must report to prison later this month, after attempts to challenge the conviction failed, a prosecutor said Friday.

In January 2005, a Berlin state court found Horst Mahler, a former lawyer and strategist for the far-right National Democratic Party, guilty of incitement. The charge was linked to his handing out pamphlets in 2002 at the party’s headquarters in Berlin that allegedly described an understanding of the threat posed by Jews as an “unmistakable sign of solid mental health.”

Mahler appealed the conviction, maintaining that this was not meaning of the leaflet, but the nation’s highest administrative court upheld it in August. In the meantime, Mahler was allowed to remain free and continued to support the defense in the trial of holocaust-hoax exposer Ernst Zundel. Mahler was barred from that trial.

Papers ordering Mahler to report to jail have been sent to him and he’s expected to start his sentence later this month, said Berlin public prosecutor Michael Grunewald. Mahler has appeared in court frequently over the years. In 2003, a Mainz court found Mahler guilty of condoning a crime for saying the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks were justified and fined him several thousand euros.

Cash Machine installed in UK Jewish cemetery

The Board has agreed to a test project which has put a cash machine in a tombstone at Chester Jewish Cemetery.

Following the death of Morris Gorski earlier this year, he put in his will a clause that his heirs would only be entitled to get their share of his money by visiting his grave in River Path Road on a weekly basis.

Mr Gorski was a popular businessman who owned a number of businesses including property company Gorski Holdings plc, the UK’s largest builder of three bedroom flats and apartments.

Working with ATM North Europe Services, the cash machine will allow his heirs to collect up to £750 a time when they turn up. A special debit card has been issued to 25 of Mr Gorski’s heirs which they can use at the graveside as well as being able to use elsewhere.

“When Uncle Morris said he was going to do this, we thought he was joking,” said niece Jane Gould. “But when we were read the will, we soon realised he wasn’t. I would visit his grave anyway, but I guess Uncle Morris wanted to make sure that other family members got a worthwhile incentive to visit him.”

According to the Board, should the test project involving Mr Gorski prove popular, other people will get the opportunity to have cash machines in their tombstones.

“As the forward thinking Jewish group we are, we do like to consider all ideas and when Mr Gorski was alive he asked us if this is something we would consider for him,” said Board president Harry Greenberg. “We listened and thought it was a wonderful idea especially if he felt it was a way to encourage family members to visit him. We consulted with members of the Board who agreed that when the time came to honour Mr Gorski’s request we would.”

Dispute over Nazi gear in samurai trial

In more than 200 photos of Scott Nager’s cluttered house, jurors saw plenty of gore, piles of swords and several guns Monday.

But nowhere to be found, Suffolk prosecutors said, was the abundance of Nazi paraphernalia that Zachary Gibian’s defense attorney has said Nager, 51, used to psychologically terrorize his stepson.

“What was purported by the defense turned out to be a big lie,” Assistant District Attorney John Scott Prudenti said after another day of testimony in the murder trial of Gibian, 19, of Hauppauge. “Where is Hitler hanging over the fireplace? Where are the helmets?”

However, Gibian’s attorney, William Keahon of Islandia, said he saw the photos very differently. Monday he directed jurors to several clues to what he says was a house of horrors run by Nager, a former New York City police officer.

Often zooming in on crime scene photos, Keahon pointed out a book with a swastika on the cover, a large red Nazi flag draped on a car in Nager’s garage and daggers that he said were manufactured for “Nazi Youth.”

Keahon also pointed out dozens of weapons kept around the house — a grenade hanging from an umbrella stand, an encased firearm that he said was a machine gun, bullets for that machine gun scattered on the ground and three loaded guns and a knife found on or near Nager when he was killed.

Jurors also saw piles of swords kept in and on top of Nager’s Jaguar sports car in a garage. Prosecutors say it was from that pile that Gibian picked out a samurai sword and nearly beheaded his stepfather as he slept on a living room couch on Feb. 27, 2005.

In a pre-trial ruling, State Supreme Court Justice Robert W. Doyle restricted references to Nager’s collection of weapons or German World War II artifacts. He repeatedly reprimanded Keahon Monday, and called him aside to warn him after he projected the photo of Nager’s swastika-emblazoned flag on a screen.

Anyone out there see the Letterman-O’Reilly dustup that went down recently? On the surface it looked like a seminal moment in modern television history, a Godzilla v. Megalon monster epic in which Godzilla was finally toppled just outside the Tokyo city gates. Keeled over, its rubber eyes flitting dumbly against the cardboard landscape, we finally saw the great lizard’s vulnerable side. It was almost possible to feel sorry for Bill O’Reilly, who had trotted out on set with the peace-offering of a plastic sword and shield, expecting to make nice with his fellow overpaid TV icon — but who instead ended up skewered and turned over the video-spit by the end of the segment, with an apple in his mouth and Sumner Redstone’s massive billionaire foot wedged firmly in his ass.

For the rest of his days, few people will forget the image of O’Reilly sitting glumly and taking it while some smug ex-weatherman called him a “bonehead” to raucous studio applause. Which is too bad, because Bill O’Reilly wasn’t even the dumbest person on the set that day. For that honor my vote goes to Letterman. GOVERNMENT DICTATES TV TECHNOLOGY

After February 17, 2009 your analog television set will cease to function. Unlike previous transitions in the electronic industry this one is government mandated. Similar transitions such as from AM radio to FM radio, black and white to color television, records to CD’s, or from CP/M to DOS to Windows operating systems all occurred voluntarily. Consumers decided the new technology was compelling enough to purchase and it became a success in the market place. One can also think of examples where an arguably better technology failed in the market place. An example here is beta versus VHS tape formats.

The government has decided for you that you will upgrade by that date and what the winning products will look like. If you, like me, only watch television occasionally, and left to your own devices would not upgrade you no longer have that choice.

I recall reading in a trade publication some years ago that the decision to mandate digital television was pushed as a protectionist measure for U.S. manufacturers. At the time the decision was made U.S. manufacturers had what was thought to be a permanent lead in the design and manufacture of high-speed digital chips.

A possibly unintended consequence of the mandating of digital television broadcasting is the maintaining of a technology that might die out if left to the open market. Consider that almost 80% homes now receive television through either satellite or cable. Conventional over-the-air broadcasting is a declining portion of the market. In an open market it might just fade away the same way that telegrams have.

Car je me construis et je m’épanouis à travers un collectif (« nous ») qui me détermine, et que je contribue à déterminer. Le « je » atomisé, « libre », est une invention moderne… et illusoire.

C’est notre conviction profonde que le XXIe siècle verra se dresser les identités millénaires face à la mort des vieilles idéologies du siècle précédent, ou plutôt la victoire (momentanée, nous ne sommes pas de ceux qui croient en la fin de l’Histoire) de la plus mortifère d’entre-elles: l’idéologie du même. Tout doit ressembler à tout, tout doit être égal
à tout. Face à ceux dont le seul idéal se nomme uniformité et égalité, drapés dans nos bannières ancestrales, nous clamons plus fort identité et liberté !

Nous l’avons déjà affirmé à de nombreuses reprises, cette identité nous la concevons à trois niveaux : identité locale/régionale, nationale et enfin civilisationnelle. Me concernant, je suis donc Nissart,…
