The phrase “ensure that the benefits are shared” means, of course, “Have the government take money and power from somebody, and give it to me and my friends.”

And who are these “friends?” He quickly supplies an answer by saying, “For example, by helping displaced workers get the necessary training to take advantage of new opportunities.” Hahahaha! Is this man personally aware of any real success in “training displaced workers” (who are fired only because they cost too much per hour) to take advantage of “new opportunities?” I’m not! Hahahaha!

And the reason is that there are no “new opportunities” to enable the overpaid American worker to make more money per hour than some cheap foreign labor, dude! If there were, then foreign labor would be doing it already! Hahaha!

On a hot July night, a few dozen Somali men were kneeling shoulder to shoulder in prayer at a storefront mosque here when the door opened and the frozen head of a pig, an animal considered unclean in Islam, rolled across the floor.

Men fled in fear. A child fainted. Some called the police and ran after the person who had rolled the head in. A suspect, Brent Matthews, was quickly apprehended and charged with desecrating a place of worship. Mr. Matthews, 33, said that the incident was a prank and that he did not know the significance of a pig’s head.

Now, weeks later, Somali leaders say the incident has left a scar on their community of about 3,000 immigrants.

While they admit the act was the work of one man, it has heightened simmering tensions in this overwhelmingly white, working-class city of 35,000, where Somali refugees started flocking about five years ago, after first settling in more urban areas of the United States. Many said they came here because housing was inexpensive and Lewiston seemed a safe place to raise their families.

While much of Lewiston has been welcoming, some Somalis here believe the head incident reveals an undercurrent of suspicion and lack of understanding about their culture. According to the Census Bureau, Maine is 96 percent white.

Washington, DC — Willis Carto, publisher of the American Free Press and the Barnes Review, reportedly exploded on Stormfront webmaster Jamie Kelso at a recent American Free Press conference, saying Kelso was an “agent” and that Stormfront was being run by “the CIA” and “the Mossad” in a bizarre explosion of anger, witnesses report.

Kelso reportedly left the conference in tears and told several conference participants he was considering leaving the movement after the “betrayal” by Carto, who has backed Kelso and Stormfront through much of its existence.

The move was unusual because of the close relationship between Willis Carto and David Duke — Duke being a major backer and supporter of Don Black, who owns Stormfront.

Recently, Kelso, who uses the name “Charles A Lindbergh” on the Stormfront website, has been accused of misappropriating Stormfront donations.

The decision made by the New York Times to block British readers from seeing an article detailing the liquid terror plot suspects has raised vital questions regarding freedom of information in this country and within cyberspace.

The New York Times said on Tuesday it had blocked British Internet readers from seeing a story detailing elements of the investigation into a suspected plot to blow up airliners between Britain and the United States.

However, this raises the question, what action could be taken against anyone else in America who posts details of the information on their own blog or website?

Well it turns out that you could be prosecuted by the redcoat government.

“There has not been a prosecution for contempt over anybody publishing outside this jurisdiction (Britain), but logically there is no reason why there should not be,” said Caroline Kean, partner at UK media law firm Wiggin.

This means that should Alex Jones or Jeff Rense, or anyone in the alternative media in America, post the New York Times story online for all to see then they could face criminal proceedings.

The official reason the story was banned is because it may influence jurors and prevent suspects receiving a “fair trial.”

The story reportedly raised questions over the authenticity of the entire plot and suggested that an attempt to blow up the airliners was not as imminent as authorities had suggested.

Any juror in this case that would be influenced by such information would no doubt also be influenced by the furor that the government has made out the alleged plot and its own milking to death of it in an attempt to fear-monger the British public into total subservience and acquiescence.

Whilst many people in this country seem to be scared to death and accepting of whatever the authorities tell them is going to happen, many more seem to have finally woken up and are able to see straight through the mist of lies and spin, doubting that any plot ever existed in the first place.

A Guardian/ICM poll last week revealed that just 20% of British voters believe the government is telling the truth about the threat to bomb transatlantic airliners using liquid explosives – meaning 80% of the country do not trust Blair and the war on terror agenda.

This means that it’s OK for the government to make public whatever information it sees fit and influence the trials of the suspects as well as shaping public opinion, but for anyone else to do so, either in the UK or in other countries, is a criminal offence.

British newspapers the Times and the Daily Mail also published details from the New York Times article. According to a Reuters report, a government source said no injunctions had been taken out against the British papers, but action could not be ruled out.

So what happens if you attempt to bring a copy of the New York Times in on a plane? Is that terrorism now? Should newspapers be banned on all flights as well as baby milk and i-pods?

This highlights how much of a threat our governments now see the internet as. The free flow of information between people around the world is breaking down and dissipating the lies and spin that they have come to rely on to plough ahead with their chosen foreign and domestic agendas.

This week it has also been revealed that Government spending on spin has almost quadrupled since Labour came to power nine years ago. The Government spent £154 million on advertising over the past 12 months – making it the third biggest advertising outlet in the country in front of almost every major global corporation that has a UK base.

It is telling that the government feels that only by keeping people entirely in the dark and suffocating them with their own brand of propaganda can they operate without hindrance. This blackout media, a tactic regularly used in Communist China, is transgressing borders now and targeting the individual citizen, regardless of the sovereign laws of their country. Is any of this indicative of a free society?

Britons threaten Muslim beheadings in footage

FAR-RIGHT extremists have adopted the tactics of Islamic jihadis by posting videos on the internet in which they threaten to behead British Muslims.

The films show balaclava-clad white British men brandishing guns, knives and clubs, calling on all Muslims to leave Britain or be killed. One appears to be a soldier who has served in the Gulf.

In one film, a man tells Muslims to “go home” or risk being burned alive. He threatens, “I’ll cut your head off”, and claims to have “comrades” across Britain who have “had enough”.

The videos were made after the arrests three weeks ago of suspects connected to the alleged plot to blow up trans-Atlantic jets. Their style mimics the “martyrdom videos” of Islamic radicals.

The release of the videos on YouTube, a US-based open-access website, coincides with reports of a rise in the number of attacks on mosques.

Massoud Shadjareh, chairman of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, said the videoed threats were extremely worrying.

“There is no question there has been an increase in attacks on mosques and Muslims,” he said at the weekend.

The videos, posted between August 11 and 19, depict three men, each wearing a black terrorist-style mask.

Would-be viewers of the clips, lasting two to three minutes, are told in a YouTube warning the videos “may contain content that is inappropriate for some users”.

In one video, a man with a London accent says: “I wish to know what we are going to do to fight the so-called religion of peace known as Islam.”

He lists incidents including the racially motivated murder of Ross Parker, a white teenager, on September 21, 2001. The alleged airline bomb plot is also mentioned, with the masked man claiming it has resulted in “no retaliation” against Muslims.

He says: “It may be because you fear prison. Well, wake up. I am calling on England, Ulster, Scotland and Wales to stand and defend the island that we love.”

Another video, dated August 19, shows a balaclava-clad man with a Welsh accent telling Muslims to “go home” or be burned.

Brandishing a 30cm-long hunting knife with a serrated blade, he says: “We are going to rip the life out of you. I am going to tear your guts out. I’ll cut your head off.”

In a reference that may indicate a military background, he says the slaughter would remind him of being “back in the Gulf”.

When, eight centuries ago, Maimonides proclaimed that pidyon shevuyim–the redeeming of captives–was of the highest moral imperative, he probably didn’t have Hezbollah in mind. But what’s Ehud Olmert’s excuse?

Olmert is now making noises that he may negotiate a prisoner exchange with Hezbollah so Israel can get back two soldiers captured in a raid that prompted the recent war. This strikes me as a very bad idea. It may be cliché to counsel against bargaining with terrorists, but for good reason: Israel has done this before–most recently in 2004–and, although it redeems the captives, it also sends the message that kidnappings will get Hezbollah what they want.

In January 2004, Ariel Sharon freed 435 Arab prisoners in return for Elchanan Tannenbaum, a shady businessman, and the corpses of three soldiers–a ratio of more than 100 inmates for each body Israel got back. But a dead soldier does not have the same moral worth as a would-be terrorist (let alone 100 of them). Hamas took note of that episode and announced at the time that it would follow the same model for recovering prisoners. True to its word, it seized a soldier just before the Hezbollah war, too.

Israel probably wouldn’t release anybody who it believed posed an immediate threat to the state–in a 1985 deal, Israel freed 1,150 Arabs, many of whom simply began fighting Israel again–but it can be hard to determine who poses what threat. And most of Israel’s Arab prisoners have actually been convicted (though not all; some, unfortunately, are held in indefinite “administrative detention”). They are criminals or terrorists, not border patrolmen like the ones Hezbollah seized.

If Israel absolutely must submit to extortion (and the domestic pressure for this is fierce), it should surrender something it could justly give, such as a parcel of land in the West Ba–oh wait, Hezbollah doesn’t actually want a just outcome. Now Hassan Nasrallah will once again be a liberator, and Ehud Olmert will have made him one.

AUSTRALIAN “BABY BONUS BOOM”

SYDNEY: Australian hospitals are bracing for a baby boom in July as expectant mothers try to delay imminent births to take advantage of a new welfare payment, researchers said.

From July 1, a baby bonus paid to parents for every newborn child will increase by A$1000 to A$4000.

Economists said after the baby bonus was introduced in July 2004 about 700 births were delayed by a week to take advantage of the new payment.

Melbourne Business School economist Professor Joshua Gans and Australian National University colleague Andrew Leigh said about 300 births were moved by more than two weeks. Most of those births involved caesarean sections or induced deliveries, they said.

It turns out some millionaires are planning to overthrow the two-party system! How? By donating money to senators! I have never heard of such a thing. What’s more, they’re called the SHADOW PARTY! Ford Sales Drop 11.6%. Homosexual Groups More Important Than Support For Employees, Dealers.

Homosexuals give Ford no public support despite falling sales due to AFA boycott

The boycott of Ford Motor Company continues to be effective. Sales in August dropped 11.6%. This follows drops of 5% in March, 7% in April, 2% in May, 6.8% in June and 4.1% in July.

Ford is taking several actions to halt falling sales, but none of them include ending financial support for homosexual
groups promoting same-sex marriage. Ford lost $1.4 billion in the first half of the year.

Rather than save money by cutting financial support to homosexual groups, Ford plans to cut production by 21%, trim the number of dealers, reportedly is seeking a merger or alliance with another auto maker, studying taking the company private, and considering selling their Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rover units.

Chrm. Bill Ford puts the support for homosexual groups ahead of Ford’s support for employees and dealers. Dealers and employees should be calling Chrm. Ford, asking him to stop supporting the homosexual agenda. The Detroit Free Press reported that Ford gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to homosexual groups. Over 40 pro-family leaders
urged Ford to remain neutral in the homosexual marriage battle, but Ford refused.

While Ford, General Motors and Chrysler had similar financial problems when the AFA boycott began, most analysts see General Motors and Chrysler conditions improving. While not responsible for all of Ford’s financial problems, the boycott is not doubt having a major effect. Ford blames it on the cost of gasoline. But General Motors and Chrysler face the same problem of $3 a gallon gas, yet their situation is improving.

Ford heavily marketed the Jaguar and Volvo units to the homosexual community, offering cash donations of $500 to $1000 to homosexual groups for each Jaguar or Volvo sold. The homosexual community has given Ford no public support, despite the massive support Ford has given them.

Last November Ford agreed to make some changes, then reneged after meeting with homosexual leaders. If Ford would honor their commitment, AFA would end the boycott.

It started with an insult [facts about Gandhi are “insult”] and ended in a Richmond Hill park — a fitting tale on the eve of India’s birthday

In March 1987, a committee of the Scarborough school board had put forth a list of suggested names for new schools, including that of Mahatma Gandhi. At a public meeting of the board, trustee David Horrox argued that Gandhi was not a suitable role model for children because he was “a crank in his personal life” who was obsessed with bowel movements and enemas. He also said Gandhi had a “shameful” attitude toward women and a “shallow” philosophy. At the end of the meeting, trustees voted 5 to 4 to remove Gandhi’s name from consideration. Horrox passed away this past April.

His comments ignited a firestorm not only in Toronto’s South Asian community, which numbered about 200,000 at the time, but also unleashed a flurry of editorials and columns, some defending Horrox’s right to free speech and others criticizing him as “narrow-minded.”

At the board’s next meeting, 1,000 people from the South Asian community showed up, demanding an apology from Horrox.

“It was such an obnoxious and ignorant thing to say about a man who is revered not just in India, but around the world. It was a huge insult,” recalls Budhendra Doobay, head of the Vishnu Mandir in Richmond Hill, who led the charge.

At a news conference, Bhausaheb Ubale, a member of the Canadian Human Rights Commission, along with the Very Rev. Jack Roberts, dean of the Anglican Church, urged an apology.

“The community was very upset and offended and rightly so,” says Ubale, who retired in 1991, adding that Horrox’s ignorance was all the more surprising given that Gandhi’s life and beliefs were beautifully portrayed in Richard Attenborough’s Academy award-winning movie Gandhi in 1982.

Horrox remained steadfast.

“I have not fabricated information. The facts can be found by anyone who cares to look for them. I have said the truth and do not feel I need to apologize to anyone,” he was quoted as saying in the Toronto media.

Former Toronto Star columnist Frank Jones weighed in. “The outburst by Horrox has no more significance than a fool kicking a rock at the foot of Mount Everest,” he wrote in April 1987. “The Mahatma belongs to the world. In a century during which the likes of Stalin, Hitler and a never-ending parade of lesser tyrants have killed and enslaved millions, Gandhi stands out as … perhaps the greatest hero of the age.”

Under the headline, “History in the Unmaking,” a Globe and Mail editorial sarcastically described Horrox’s scholarly approach as one “which later may lead him to denounce Winston Churchill as nothing but a brandy-swilling, cigar-smoking scribbler.” [You could add that he destroyed the British Empire and Britain, too.]

FCC commissioners hear complaint from
Academia Semillas del Pueblo

Over 250 citizens attended a Federal Communications Commission hearing at the University of Southern California to express deep frustration over the extremely low broadcasting standards of many Los Angeles area radio stations. Among the worst mentioned is Disney’s KABC that broadcasts on the 790 AM frequency. KABC 790 as well as KFI 640 have become extremely crass and vulgar and both stations have racist hosts that negatively target Los Angeles area’s non-White communities, said many at the hearing. Attendees included members of Congress, labor leaders, school administrators, librarians and parents of school age children.

There was a large contingent of teachers and parents from LAUSD’s Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School present. They strongly voiced their concerns about KABC’s hateful vendetta against their K-8th grade school located in the LA community of El Sereno. Repetitive and extremely racist commentaries over the KABC airwaves have caused grave consequences for the school that serves mostly children of Mexican descent. The constant hate mongering by KABC radio against the school has endangered the lives of the school children. The school has now received arson and bomb threats and on one occassion the school had to be evacuated.

The FCC hearing on Thursday at USC was organized by the National Latino Media Council because of their deep concern that racists on mainstream radio stations are now utilizing the airwaves to foment violence against the area’s Mexican and Latino populations. There have been an alarming number of hate crimes against Mexican immigrants in the area and KABC’s racist broadcasting is only aggravating the situation.

Academia Semillas del Pueblo came to the hearing well prepared. A school’s co-founder brought and played an audio tape of one of KABC’s most racist and hateful broadcast. The FCC commissioners were shocked. The co-founder of the charter school demanded that the FCC revoke the station’s license. A father of two students at Academia Semillas del Pueblo accused KABC radio of spreading hate and lies. “They threatened the lives of our children,” the father said.

According to the Los Angeles Times, KABC executives did not return their calls on Friday nor executives at the Walt Disney Company. One of the FCC commissioners said he was alarmed and shocked by what he heard and promised to investigate the matter. “This was a powerful statement of the deep level of concern within the Latino community about the state of the media in Los Angeles. The frustration is understandable,” the commissioner concluded.
