OLATHE, Kan.- Jurors watched a video Monday of a sadomasochistic sex
session between an alleged victim and a man accused of killing women and
stuffing their bodies in barrels.
The 40-minute video shows John E. Robinson in a hotel room with Suzette
Trouten, who performs sex acts and professes her allegiance to Robinson.
Early in the video, Trouten sits on the edge of the bed, looks into the
camera and says to Robinson: "This is what you wanted me to tell you: I'm
your slave. ... Everything is yours."
Several jurors covered their eyes at least briefly as the tape played.
"The most important thing in life you are is my slave," Robinson later
tells Trouten.
Monday marked the beginning of the second week of the trial against
Robinson, 58, who is charged with capital murder in the deaths of Trouten,
28, in 2000 and Izabela Lewicka, 22, a year earlier. The bodies of both
women were found in barrels on Robinson's property 60 miles south of
Kansas City.
He also is charged with murdering Lisa Stasi, 19, who disappeared in
1985, and faces the death penalty in that case as well.
Lenexa police Detective Dawn Layman testified Monday about items found
at a storage locker Robinson had rented, including Trouten's and Lewicka's
belongings, sex toys and a six-page "sex slave" contract.
A gag order on attorneys in the case prevents them from commenting
outside court.
