A Speech America Will Never Hear

by VNN Staff

March 30 2005

U.S. President George W. Bush, speaking on television, live from the White House

Bush: My fellow Americans:

During 2002, my administration received information that Saddam Hussein, the leader of Iraq, had acquired a stockpile of weapons of mass destruction. Based upon that information, I ordered U.S. forces to attack Iraq in March 2003.

Ladies and gentleman, it has become clear to me that the information which led me to order the attack on -- and the occupation of -- Iraq was wrong. We made a mistake going to war with Iraq - a serious mistake. And I, as your president, hereby take full responsibility for it.

I also would like to apologize to the families of all of the men who have died in the Iraq War. I am truly sorry for your loss.

The Iraq War was not waged for America's interests as we told you that it was. It was instead waged for Israel's interests, for Zionism's interests. Furthermore, most of the people who provided me with the wrong information about Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction were Jewish civilians at the Pentagon. I now feel deceived by those people. I now question not only the motives of the Jews within the Pentagon and within my staff who gave me the false information about Iraq, but I must now question the motives of the entire Jewish community in America, which so vigorously pushed the idea of waging war against Iraq via their newspapers, magazines and TV shows.

Since, as Harry Truman said, "the buck stops here," I feel that I have no choice but to resign from the office of the United States presidency. I have let America down, and I understand that now -- more and more so every day. I failed you as a leader. I put another country's interests before America's interests. I caused young Americans to die as a result. I also strained relations between America and the European and Arab countries as a result of waging war upon Iraq.

And so, I, George W. Bush, hereby resign my position as the president of the United States. My vice-president, Richard Cheney, will serve as your president until at least the next presidential election in the fall of 2008.

Thank you, God bless you, and good night.

America will never hear that speech. Why not? Because giving such a speech would take courage and integrity, and all President George Walker Bush takes is orders.
