Overheard: an old “greatest generation” codger saying, re: America’s interventionist foreign policy, that “isolationism isn’t the answer. We tried it before and it didn’t work.” Huh? What? When has America ever been “isolationist”? We were fighting in the friggin’ Philippines back in 1899.
