Mukasey Wins in Committee Vote, Senate Will Likely Approve Him

Jewish committee members were vital to Mukasey getting the 10 votes needed (he got 11 votes). Mukasey is expected to be confirmed by the full Senate. He is an Orthodox Jew [1][2]:

      It was interesting to see the split between the Jewish (Feinstein, Schumer) and Gentile (Leahy) left. Racial solidarity clearly trumps ideology.
